Our Activities
12 Days of Spreading Christmas Cheer!
In December, members of the Captain John Lillard Chapter, NSDAR, collected food for the Grant County Helping Hands food pantry, a local non-profit organization that provides assistance to vulnerable families in Grant County and surrounding communities. Our members collected over 100 non-perishable food items for Helping Hands this year. Way to go, ladies!

Captain John Lillard Chapter, NSDAR, Participates in Wreaths Across America
The Captain John Lillard Chapter, NSDAR, honored the memories of our nation's veterans by participating in a wreath-laying ceremony on December 14 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky. The event was part of the Wreaths Across America Project to commemorate National Wreaths Across America Day. Despite the wind and cold rain, the chapter was one of many local organizations, as well as hundreds of men, women, and children who turned out to support veterans and their families. DAR Supports Historic Sherman Tavern
The Captain John Lillard Chapter, NSDAR, proudly supports historic preservation efforts in our local communities and throughout the great Commonwealth of Kentucky, including the local historic site, Sherman Tavern. The Tavern served as a stagecoach stop between Lexington, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, Ohio, during most of the 1800s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In recent years, the Friends of Historic Sherman Tavern have done much to restore and preserve this important piece of Kentucky history, and the Captain John Lillard Chapter, NSDAR, is proud to continually support and assist in these efforts.
